Budapest: Closing ceremony of "Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary"

The closing ceremony of the "Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary" was held at the premises of the Embassy of Serbia in Budapest, on 5 October. The ceremony was attended by Speaker of the Parliament of Serbia Maja Gojkovic, Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Zsolt Semjén, some 30 ambassadors, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Serbian-language media in Hungary as well as several dozens of other reputable citizens from Serbian and Hungarian communities in Hungary.

The Hague: Lesson on the Serbian language and culture at the European School

Students of the European School, one of the international schools in The Hague, had a lesson on the Serbian language and culture on the occasion of the European Day of Languages, 26th September, when diplomatic representatives give a lesson each to two classes on the language and culture of the country they come from.

New York: Concert "Journey through the sounds of Serbia" at Carnegie Hall

Thursday, 04 October 2018.
In the famous Carnegie Hall in New York, the American public listened to the concert entitled "Journey through the sounds of Serbia", by the Serbian performers living in the United States. The concert featured performances of Serbian music heritage created over seven centuries, ranging from medieval spiritual music, authentic folk and classical music to jazz.

Doha: The Gulf Times writes about the meeting of Serbian Ambassador with Qatari Transport Minister

Serbian Ambassador to Qatar Jasminko Pozderac had a meeting with Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti on 2 October. The Minister and the Ambassador discussed the development of air transport cooperation between the two countries.

Tokyo: Embassy presents Serbian slava (family patron saint celebration)

Tuesday, 02 October 2018.
At the initiative launched by the Tokyo-based non-governmental organization International Artist Centre, the Serbian Embassy organized a presentation of Serbian slava for some forty guests. The presentation about the history and culture of Serbia, including the slava-related customs, was given by Ms. Tijana Nagato of the Serbian Embassy, who wore the national costume from Central Serbia. The guests had the opportunity to see the customs pertaining to the food served at the table on the occasion, the grain prepared cake and the cracking of slava unleavened bread alongside Serbian traditional food: cornmeal bread, ajvar (Serbian vegetable caviar), Shopska salad, home-made biscuits, all prepared by Embassy staff with the help of Centre representatives.
