altStudents of the European School, one of the international schools in The Hague, had a lesson on the Serbian language and culture on the occasion of the European Day of Languages, 26th September, when diplomatic representatives give a lesson each to two classes on the language and culture of the country they come from.

Ms. Marija Boskovic of the Serbian Embassy to the Netherlands spoke about the geography of Serbia, phonetic letter writing and the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets, tradition, epic ballads, stories, myths, words that are shared in common by all European languages, etc. She also spoke about the Serbian cuisine, typical Serbian fruit and vegetables but of the favorite sports and athletes in Serbia, as well. The students, aged 9 to 10, were interested to find out more about the folk dances and famous athletes, such as the football player of Ajax Dusan Tadic and the tennis player Novak Djokovic.
