Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans

At the Summit on the WB, held in Paris, on 4 July 2016, the Agreement on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office was signed. The signed Agreement envisaged improvement of regional mobility and exchange between the youth in the WB, the practical establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office, as well as a number of activities in the spirit of reconciliation and the strengthening of regional cooperation. Constitutive meeting of the Steering Committee of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office was held in Tirana on 8 December 2016. Two representatives from each Contracting Party to the Agreement participate in the work of the Steering Committee – a representative of the Ministry responsible for youth policy and a representative of civil society.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Bill ratifying the Agreement on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office on 29 November 2016, which was submitted in the parliamentary procedure. With a contribution of EUR 389,000, theRepublicofSerbiais by far the largest contributor, with regard to the individual annual financial contributions of the Contracting Parties.

The headquarters of the Regional Youth Office is in Tirana, and the Secretary General of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office is the representative of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Djuro Blanusa.
