Budapest: Closing ceremony of "Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary"

altThe closing ceremony of the "Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary" was held at the premises of the Embassy of Serbia in Budapest, on 5 October. The ceremony was attended by Speaker of the Parliament of Serbia Maja Gojkovic, Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Zsolt Semjén, some 30 ambassadors, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Serbian-language media in Hungary as well as several dozens of other reputable citizens from Serbian and Hungarian communities in Hungary.

Ambassador Rade Drobac said that Serbia and Hungary were fully engaged in the promotion of their bilateral relations which could serve as a role model to other countries in the region. He also said that our country was proud of the fact that the Hungarian Government held the view that its minority in Serbia received the best treatment in comparison with other countries. He also expressed satisfaction at the advanced position of the Serbian community in Hungary.

"Tamburica" band from Mohacs played while traditional Serbian dishes and drinks were served at the event. This was the ninth edition of the event organized by the Cultural and Documentation Center of Serbs in Hungary and sponsored by their self-governing authorities.
