Bern: Literary Soirée at the Embassy PDF Print E-mail

altSerbian poetesses living in Switzerland Milena Vukoje Stamenkovic and Latinka Djordjevic took part in a literary soirée held at the Embassy of Serbia in Bern, on 15 December 2017. The authoresses presented their collections of poems entitled World in a Glass and Autumn, respectively. Luka Stamenkovic, M.A. in classical guitar, performed several compositions, while Iva Stamenkovic gave a singing performance of a number of Serbian folk songs. Serbian Ambassador to Switzerland Snezana Jankovic inaugurated the programme.

The Embassy of Serbia in Washington D.C. and Kennedy Center organized a concert on 12 December at the Millennium Stage of the Kennedy Center with a soprano Biljana Saldo and pianist Milena Gligic performing music of famous Serbian composers.

At the invitation of Professor Bodo Hombah, Consul General Branislava Perin gave a lecture on 13 December within "Troubled Balkans" seminar to students of the University of Bonn. In her lecture, she addressed the problems the region is currently facing and what more needs to be done to strengthen cooperation among the regional States, maintain stability and achieve economic progress and prosperity so that the region as a whole could make progress towards full EU membership.

Qom: Iranian media about the visit made by the Serbian Ambassador PDF Print E-mail

Serbian Ambassador to Iran Dragan Todorovic visited the city of Qom and Al-Mustafa University, on which several Iranian media outlets reported. Ambassador Todorovic had talks with President of the University Ayatollah Aarafi who stressed the need to deepen cultural, scientific and economic ties between Serbia and Iran.

Algiers: Culture Minister sponsoring Serbian artists PDF Print E-mail

With sponsorship of the Algerian Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi, opera diva Jadranka Jovanovic, accompanied by pianist Nikola Rackov, operatic baritones Oliver Njego and Nour-Eddine Saoudi and the Algerian opera orchestra performed arias from the world's most famous operas, as well as Serbian and Algerian folk songs, in the city of Algiers. The concert, held on 4 December, was co-organized by the Ministries of Culture of Serbia and Algeria and co-sponsored by "Boualem Bessayeh" Opera of Algiers and the Serbian Embassy.
