With sponsorship of the Algerian Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi, opera diva Jadranka Jovanovic, accompanied by pianist Nikola Rackov, operatic baritones Oliver Njego and Nour-Eddine Saoudi and the Algerian opera orchestra performed arias from the world's most famous operas, as well as Serbian and Algerian folk songs, in the city of Algiers. The concert, held on 4 December, was co-organized by the Ministries of Culture of Serbia and Algeria and co-sponsored by "Boualem Bessayeh" Opera of Algiers and the Serbian Embassy.

Ambassador Aleksandar Jankovic and Director General of the Opera of Algiers Nour-Eddine Saoudi pointed to the traditional friendly relations between Serbia and Algeria and the importance of cultural exchanges for cooperation between the two countries.

The concert performance was attended by Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel and Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guinea Mamadi Touré, who was on a working visit to Algeria, representatives of the diplomatic corps, culture and media institutions, members of the Serbian business community and diaspora.

Serbian opera artists' guest performance was realized as part of the cooperation programme between the two countries' Ministries of Culture. As part of the visit, a concert titled "Serenade of Friendship" was held in the city of Oran, on 6 December.
