Serbian poetesses living in Switzerland Milena Vukoje Stamenkovic and Latinka Djordjevic took part in a literary soirée held at the Embassy of Serbia in Bern, on 15 December 2017. The authoresses presented their collections of poems entitled World in a Glass and Autumn, respectively. Luka Stamenkovic, M.A. in classical guitar, performed several compositions, while Iva Stamenkovic gave a singing performance of a number of Serbian folk songs. Serbian Ambassador to Switzerland Snezana Jankovic inaugurated the programme.
Milena Vukoje Stamenkovic is a journalist, poetess, short-story writer, travel writer and a translator. She worked for the "Vecernje novosti" daily newspaper for a number of years as their Swiss correspondent. She has had eight collections of poems, two books of short stories and a novel published. Latinka Djordjevic is a poetess whose works have been translated to German and English. So far, she has had eight collections of poems and a novel published. Both authoresses hold membership of the Association of Serbian Writers and the Association of Serbian Poets – Poetry SRB from Krusevac.
