The-United-NationsIs what the Deputy Prime Minister of Greece and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos stressed during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic in New York, on the fringes of the UN General Assembly meeting. The two Ministers exchanged views on the situation in the Western Balkans, the progress of the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina and the preparations for the local elections in Kosovo. Venizelos said that Greece was firmly committed to the Euro Atlantic perspective of the Western Balkans. The Greek Minister assessed that the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina was historic and commended the Serbian leadership for their courage to make such a decision.
