Chicago: Serbian Film Festival PDF Print E-mail

altSixth Serbian Film Festival in Chicago was held at the "AMC Rosemont" movie theatre from 7-9 December. The programme included screenings of the following films: "South Wind", "Dwarfs from the Front Pages", "Meat", "Who is singing over there", documentary film "Eyes open" and the film produced by the Yugoslav Film Archive "A small film for the great Milena" commemorating the life of actress Milena Dravic. Part of the festival was dedicated to the centennial of the end of WWI and the alliance between Serbia and the U.S. during this war, and on this occasion documentary film "Dragutin Matic – the Hawkeye" was shown and the exhibition "Far away 1918-2018" was opened.

Toronto: Novel "Swastika above Serbia" presented at Consulate General PDF Print E-mail

altIn the context of the presentation of the novel "Swastika above Serbia" by Radomir Baturan, a literary evening was held on 6 December at the Consulate General of Serbia in Toronto in cooperation with the club of Serbian intellectuals magazine "People Talk". The novel is dedicated to a historical personality, the pilot of the Royal Yugoslav Army, Djordje Stojanovic, who shot down three enemy fighter planes in the twelve-day war between the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Nazi Germany.

Herceg Novi: Film and lecture commemorating the end of World War One PDF Print E-mail

altConsulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Herceg Novi, in cooperation with the association "Matica Boke" and Public Cultural Institution "Herceg Fest" organized a screening of the documentary film "The Forgotten Admiral Ernest Troubridge" in movie theatre "Park". Moreover, on the occasion of the centennial of the end of WWI, publicist Nebojsa Raso gave a lecture called "Bay of Kotor seamen fighting for liberation and unification".

Marking of the anniversary was covered by the local media – daily newspaper "Dan", web portal "IN4S" and radio station "Herceg Novi".

Oslo: Cultural Programme at the Embassy PDF Print E-mail

altOn 3 December, the Serbian Embassy in Norway, in cooperation with Associations of Serbs in Oslo, organized screening of the film "Serbia in the Great War" and a performance by the Children's and Chamber Choir "St. Basil of Ostrog", on the occasion of the centenary since the end of WWI.
