Ivan MrkicForeign Minister Ivan Mrkic paid a working visit to the Russian Federation as a member of the delegation headed by President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic. The State Delegation also included: First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic, Serbian Ambassador in Moscow Slavenko Terzic and Adviser to the Serbian President Marko Djuric. Presidents of Serbia and the Russian Federation signed the Declaration on strategic partnership between the two countries at the villa Bocharov Ruchei in Sochi.

Thessaloniki Summit was a unique turning point for all Western Balkan countries, a road-map with necessary guidelines on how to fulfill and carry out the pre-requisites in order to achieve European standards and make the European perspective of the region tangible. And, it has proved to be a successful drive, since all the countries of the region have made significant advancements. It is therefore important to build on these achievements and to make further progress on all key issues.

VASIC2The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland Lucinda Creighton said, in her talks with Assistant Foreign Minister Ljubica Vasic in Dublin, that Ireland supported Serbia and all the steps taken by the Government of Serbia towards the EU and particularly its political courage in resolving the issue of Kosovo and Metohija. Creighton said that Ireland would make an effort, in its talks with Germany, to provide support to Serbia. The Irish Foreign Minister said that Serbia had to demonstrate its clear will to implement the Brussels agreement by June. She also stressed that no one expected the full implementation of the agreement, because it really was not possible.

Walking out of the meeting with Westerwelle, Minister Mrkic said that the German Minister understood the 'sensitivity of the moment' for the Serbian Government and people in Kosovo.
