Tunisia: Exhibition on Serbia and Tunisia in WWI PDF Print E-mail

altAn exhibition "Tunisia in the Great War" (2-8 May) held in the lobby of the Embassy of Serbia in Tunis, focusing on the role of our country in WWI, attracted a large number of visitors. Apart from the photographs and documents provided by the Museum of History of Serbia, articles from Tunisian Gazette on the Serbian army and civilians in Tunisia of that time were also on display.

Cairo: Ambassador of Serbia attends Egypt-EU Business Forum PDF Print E-mail

altAmbassador of Serbia to Egypt Jugoslav Vukadinovic, together with the Ambassadors of Norway and Singapore, took part in the Egypt-EU Business Forum in Cairo, on 8 May.

Egyptian Daily "Al Ahram" reported that Ambassadors spoke about economic cooperation between their countries and Egypt, advanced training, reform of education and sporting exchanges.

The Forum was also attended by the leadership of the Energy Efficiency Business Coalition (EEBC).

Mengesha: Embassy representative visited Ethiopian-Yugoslav school PDF Print E-mail

altThe Embassy of Serbia in Ethiopia established cooperation with the Ethiopian-Yugoslav elementary school that was opened by the Emperor Haile Selassie in 1968, after it had been built with the help of the Yugoslav community in Ethiopia. The school is located in the place called Mengesha, 20 kilometers from Addis Ababa, and is attended by 700 students.

Dusseldorf: Serbia at Europe Day celebration PDF Print E-mail

altThe Republic of Serbia participated, for the first time, at the Europe Day celebration in Dusseldorf normally only attended by the EU member states. The Consulate General presented tourist and economic offer of Serbia and provided the space for the presentation of wines given by representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Serbian winery.

Chicago: “Hypnotized by Love” at the Cervantes Cultural Center PDF Print E-mail

altA play "Hypnotized by Love" by Dusan Kovacevic was performed at the Cervantes Cultural Center in Chicago, in cooperation with our Consulate General.

The roles from the play were read by the actors of American "Vitalist Theatre" from Chicago. Professor of drama from Iowa Dennis Barnett translated the play from Serbian to English.

The play was featured within the 9th International Voices Projects Festival, from 1 to 31 May, and this Serbian play was performed for the second time.

After the performance, representatives of the Consulate General offered the visitors wines from Serbia.

Diplomat Ivan Mrkic awarded with the Order by Emperor Akihito of Japan PDF Print E-mail

altAmbassador Ivan Mrkic was awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, the highest Japanese decoration that a foreign national can receive in Japan for outstanding services. Emperor Akihito conferred the honour on our diplomat in a ceremony at the Imperial Palace on 8 May. The decoration is very important recognition for our country.
