Mengesha: Embassy representative visited Ethiopian-Yugoslav school

altThe Embassy of Serbia in Ethiopia established cooperation with the Ethiopian-Yugoslav elementary school that was opened by the Emperor Haile Selassie in 1968, after it had been built with the help of the Yugoslav community in Ethiopia. The school is located in the place called Mengesha, 20 kilometers from Addis Ababa, and is attended by 700 students.

Oreta Novakovic Jovanovic from the Embassy of Serbia in Ethiopia visited the school and presented Serbia and the historical ties with Ethiopia to students, donating 50 children's books in English.

The Embassy's representative was greeted by Acala Gelan, Municipal Secretary for Education, Arega Sufa, MP of the Mengesha County, school headteacher Habtamu Alema and his Deputy Derece Bir.
