First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today in New Delhi with his host, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India.
In the talks, the officials expressed mutual pleasure with the decades-long traditional friendly relations and understanding between the two countries, particularly in the year marking the 70th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Minister Dacic holds lecture at the Indian Council of World Affairs |

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, on his official visit to India, held a lecture "Serbia in the region, Europe and the world" at the renowned Indian Council of World Affairs, which was streamed live via video link.
On this occasion, Minister Dacic informed numerous prominent representatives of Indian and foreign diplomatic, academic and intellectual circles about the current developments in the Western Balkans region and regional cooperation, Serbia's EU accession process and the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
In the year marking the 70th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations with India, the Serbian Foreign Minister recalled the long-standing tradition of friendly relations between the two countries, dating back to the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement, but also to the time prior to their formal establishment and the 1926 visit to Belgrade by Rabindranath Tagore, the great Indian thinker and Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature. |

Minister Dacic has talks with Tara Gandhi in New Delhi |

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic visited Tara Gandhi, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi in New Delhi today.
Ms. Tara Gandhi conveyed to Minister Dacic her recollections of the period when she lived with Mahatma Gandhi, a time when a new, democratic and independent India came into being.
Minister Dacic pointed to the high esteem in which Serbian people continued to hold Mahatma Gandhi to this day. As Tara Gandhi wrote a book about the time she spent beside Mahatma, the Serbian Foreign Minister suggested that her book be translated to Serbian and published in our country.
Ms. Tara Gandhi was pleased to accept this proposal and promised the Minister that, once the book went to print, she would visit Belgrade as his guest. |

Republic of Serbia welcomes the historic summit between President of the Republic of Korea and Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea |

The Republic of Serbia welcomes the recently held historic summit between President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in and Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un, extending its full support to the two sides' efforts to achieve peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue.
Confident that the Summit has opened a new era in the relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea, in line with the newly agreed Panmunjeom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula, the Republic of Serbia finds that this is an important step towards full denuclearization and the achievement of peace and all-round prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.
As a sincere friend of both countries, Serbia will continue to extend its wholehearted support to all efforts aimed at the establishment of permanent peace, to the benefit of not only their citizens, but of the world at large as well. |

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia sent a message of condolences to the family of Jordan Nikolic.
"Jordan chose preservation of authentic Kosovo and Metohija folk music heritage as his life's calling, and it is my hope that, with his passing, the wealth of Serbian songs and culture will not disappear and wither away from Kosovo and Metohija.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, in line with the decision adopted at today's session of the Serbian Government, addressed a Verbal Note to the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Belgrade, conveying that Serbia perceived the decision to ban entry into the Republic of Croatia to Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin as a measure directly aiming to deteriorate mutual relations, which was also contrary to the spirit of good-neighbourly cooperation and mutual exercise of restraint from provocative statements and activities.
