Opening of the “Itinerarium Romanum Serbiae” Exhibition in Paraguay |

The exhibition "Itinerarium Romanum Serbiae" was inaugurated at the "El Cabildo" Cultural Centre, in Asuncion, on 17 December, in the presence of many Paraguayan officials, including Minister of Culture, Mabel Causarano. Ms Margarita Morselli, Director of the "El Cabildo" Cultural Centre, Prof Dr Miomir Korac, Head of the Institute of Archaeology of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Jose Zanardini, President of the Centre for Anthropological Studies of the Catholic University, Ms Antonella Cavallari, Italy's Ambassador to Paraguay, as well as Ms Tatjana Conic, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Buenos Aires took this opportunity to address the audience. On this occasion, Dr Miomir Korac, archaeologists Angelina Raickovic, Mladen Jovicic and Ilija Dankovic, as well as Ms Tatjana Conic, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of our diplomatic-consular mission in Buenos Aires were granted special recognition awards "Bicentenario" for their contribution to advancing cultural relations between the Republic of Serbia and Paraguay.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the United Mexican States, Mr. G. Mesic, has signed with the Secretary General, Victoria Marina de Aviles, the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and SICA admitting Serbia as its new extra-regional observer. The agreement was signed on the margins of the Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs from the Central American Integration System (SICA) held on 17 December, in San Salvador, El Salvador.

CHICAGO: SERBIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2015 |

The third Serbian Film Festival 2015 was held at the prestigious movie theatre "Muvico" in Chicago, from 4 - 6 December, 2015. The following films were screened during the Festival: "For King and Fatherland", "Nobody's Child", "Enclave", "Stairless", "We Will be World Champions", "As they flew to the Moon" and "Legacy". Guests of the Festival were Director Rados Bajic, whose film "For King and Fatherland" opened the Festival, as well as film directors of "No Man's Child" and "Enclave", Vuk Rsumovic and Goran Radovanovic. On the Festival's final evening, the guests were presented with bronze plaques of the "Mirror", and Chicago Mayor Ram Emanuel's message of welcome was read to those present. Serbian Diaspora newspaper "Mirror" is the founder and organizer of this cultural event, which was made possible owing to the cooperation and support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, Directorate for Diaspora and the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago.

Bratislava: Inauguration of the “Slovak naïve painting style from Serbia” exhibition |

The exhibition titled "Slovak naïve painting style from Serbia", whose honorary sponsor was the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bratislava Shani Dermaku, was inaugurated in the presence of 250 guests, at the Art Gallery of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, on Thursday 3 December 2015. The opening of the exhibition, consisting of 169 representative paintings done by 63 authors, was attended by representatives of Slovak institutions, members of the diplomatic corps and many figures from Slovakia's public and cultural life. This cultural event received wide publicity in the Slovak media.

Cairo: Screening of Serbian films at Cairo International Film Festival |

Serbian films "Enklava" (The Enclave) directed by Goran Radovanovic and "Spomenik Majklu Dzeksonu" (A Monument to Michael Jackson) directed by Darko Lungulov were screened at the International Film Festival, held in Cairo between 11 and 20 November 2015. Owing to the engagement and activities of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo, the screenings of Serbian films were highly attended by both Serbian nationals and the representatives of the diplomatic and consular missions of other countries.

Thessaloniki: Inauguration of the “Serbian Literature in WWI” exhibition |

On the occasion of marking the Armistice Day and the First World War centenary, the exhibition staged by the Serbian National Library titled "Serbian Literature in the First World War" was inaugurated at the Thessaloniki History Centre, on 11 November 2015. The exhibition was co-organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Thessaloniki and the Serbian National Library, in cooperation with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. This monumental exhibition has been mounted for the first time in Greece, and is a unique timeline of the Serbian literature throughout one of the most difficult periods of Serbian history.
