Through the initiative and support of the Serbian Embassy in New Delhi, as well as of the Festival Director Mr Sanjeev Bhargava of Seher, famous Serbian pianist and composer Aleksandar Simic participated in the first edition of the World Music Festival in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Aleksandar performed together with four other musicians, one of whom was renown Indian sitar player Shubhendra Rao.

Ambassador Vladimir Maric visited the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on 4 and 5 February 2016. He attended the military parade and other events organized to celebrate the Independence Day of Sri Lanka. During his stay in Colombo, Ambassador Maric met with the President of Sri Lanka, Mr Maithripala Sirisena, and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes on the Sri Lankan National Day from the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Tomislav Nikolic.

Athens: Celebrating St. Sava’s day |

A formal ceremony to mark St. Sava's Day was held at the Embassy of the Republicof Serbiain Athens, on January 27, 2016. On this occasion, Embassy issued certificates of appreciation to institutions and individuals that have invested significant efforts in preserving the Serbian language in Greece: municipalities of Glyfada and Chalandri, headmasters of schools from the said municipalities where Serbian is taught, as well as to protopresbyter K. Kouros and to Mr. VassilisMuzkiaris. The students ofSerbianComplementarySchool, along with the Greek students of the Faculty of Philosophy inAthens, who study Serbian as a foreign language, performed a suitable show. The event was covered by the Greek television "Antenna".

Charm el Sheikh: First place at the International Theatre Festival |

A play "Kallikantzaros (malevolent goblins) '99" by the Belgrade theatre company "Samteatar" won first place for best performance at the International Theatre Festival in Charm el Sheikh. Nineteen theatres from as many countries participated in the competition. The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo initiated and supported the performance of Serbian theatre artists at this festival.

Sri Lanka: Embassy Donation |

On January 7, 2016, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in New Delhi Vladimir Marić, together with famous Serbian actors Nina Janković and Uroš Jakovljević, and biologist Milivoje Krvavac, gave 30 packages with school supplies to a kindergarten in Sri Lanka, as a donation from the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia. The funds necessary for the purchase of the packages were raised at the New Delhi humanitarian diplomatic bazaar, held in December last year. News about the donation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia was posted on the official internet portal of the Sri Lankan Government.

Oman: The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra’s Performance |

At the initiative and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo, which also covers Oman, the Belgrade Philharmonic performed in Muscat from December 29 to December 31, 2015. A large number of Serbian citizens staying in this country attended the concert organised in the crowded hall of the Oman Royal Opera House considered to be the most modern opera house in the world.
