There will be organizational changes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but this will happen only after a new Foreign Affairs Law is adopted, which is likely in twenty or so days, says Ivan Mrkic, Serbian Foreign Minister in an interview with Danas, in response to the question as to whether any in the MFA are being contemplated in the framework of Cabinet reshuffle.

"The negotiations for Serbia's membership of the European Union will, essentially, begin today with the visit of Stefan Fuele and his delegation. The visit will set the framework for the negotiations. Since this is a process, the mandate itself will be prepared by the European Commission and then delivered to us". This was the reply of Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic to "Novosti" when asked when Serbia would receive the negotiation framework and about the initial tasks that our country will have to fulfil in the coming months.

Mrkic: No specific obstacles to Serbia’s EU accession |

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic assessed that there were no specific obstacles to Serbia's accession to the European Union (EU), expressing his conviction that the Brussels agreement would be fully implemented by the end of the year.
He also emphasized that it would not happen that Kosovo would be admitted to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as long as Serbia were the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in 2015.

Over the last few months, Serbia has conducted a well-coordinated and comprehensive diplomatic action in respect of all EU Member States. Therefore, I am sure that the European Council of 28 June will make a positive decision regarding Serbia, says Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic in a photo-finish of the "Brussels race" full of suspense. He reminded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had carried out an intensified activity as well as that he met, in the last ten months or so, with 70 Foreign Ministers, 23 Heads of State and 15 Prime Ministers. So, he was confident that this diplomatic offensive would come to fruition.

Mrkic: Never have so many praises been forthcoming |

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic said that, throughout his long career, Serbia had never received so many praises as in the last few weeks and expressed his expectation that the country would get a date for the opening of its accession negotiations with the EU. "Ever since we embarked upon reaching the goal of getting a date for the commencement of negotiations on EU membership, things have been getting better and better and, in the last few weeks, this goal has become so close at hand that I cannot compare it with anything I experienced in the past, and I have been doing this job for 35 years," said Mrkic in an interview for "Novi Magazin".

Serbia and Italy have very well-developed bilateral relations, particularly in the area of economy.
