Dacic - H.E. Eldar Junichi MaruyamaFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a courtesy call from Ambassador of Japan Junichi Maruyama, who recently presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

Minister Dacic welcomed the new Ambassador of Japan wishing him success in his mission in Serbia. The Foreign Minister expressed pleasure at the very good bilateral relations between the two countries and the upward trend in their cooperation, along with his confidence that the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan Junichi Maruyama would continue the intensive activities aimed at further all-round enhancement of cooperation between the two countries, to which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia stood ready to offer every assistance and support.

It was assessed during the talks that the relations between the two countries were on an ascending line, and that they were substantive and multi-faceted, both on bilateral and multilateral levels.
Both sides confirmed their readiness to further enhance their mutual dialogue, expressing that they were particularly looking forward to the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Republic of Serbia, in the mutual belief that the visit would make a significant contribution to the promotion of the overall cooperation between the two countries.

The interlocutors underlined the interest of Serbia and Japan to further connect the economies of the two countries by strengthening economic, and other forms of cooperation, with particular emphasis on increasing Japanese investments in Serbia and joint approach to third markets.

Minister Dacic reiterated, this time again, his gratitude for the high level of solidarity with Serbia, expressed by the people of Japan through donations and grants. The Serbian Foreign Minister assessed that support and solidarity were mutual, constituting a lasting value in the further development of friendly relations between Serbia and Japan.
