MFAThe first part of the 19th meeting of the Joint Committee for Succession of Diplomatic and Consular Properties of the former SFRY (Annex B to the Agreement on Succession Issues), was held in Belgrade on 13 and 14 December 2017.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of all Successor States of the former SFRY: Bosnia and Herzegovina (Adnan Hadzikapetanovic), Republic of Croatia (Amir Muharemi), Republic of Macedonia (Mihajlo Trpkoski), Republic of Slovenia (Damjan Bergant) and the Republic of Serbia (Veljko Odalovic).

The agenda included a number of current issues regarding the process of distribution of diplomatic and consular properties of the former SFRY – such as the sale of five immovable properties of the former SFRY (in Bonn, Bern, Tokyo and two in New York). They also reviewed ownership and legal status of certain properties from Annex B and examined possibilities to reach an agreement on further distribution of diplomatic and consular properties of the former SFRY.

The meeting was conducted in a constructive and friendly atmosphere despite differences of opinion among the Successor States on certain issues. Since the agenda included many items of a complex nature and the need for some authorized representatives to additionally consult with their Governments, it was agreed that the 19th meeting of the Joint Committee for Succession Issues be temporarily suspended and resume its activities in three months' time in Belgrade.
