First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic was today on an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During his visit to Astana Minister Dacic met with Minister of Defence and Aerospace Industry Beibut Atamkulov as well as his counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Abdrakhmanov.

In the talks with Kazakh top officials, Minister Dacic stressed that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Kazakhstan were good and friendly, and also that Kazakhstan was among the most important foreign political partners of Serbia.

"Kazakhstan firmly supports Serbia on our territorial integrity and sovereignty and, most importantly for us, Kazakhstan will strongly maintain that position further and continue to support Serbia.

On the other hand, Serbia will fully support Kazakhstan, and we are glad that Kazakhstan is currently a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, which is highly important for Serbia in this period."

The Head of Serbian diplomacy emphasized the need to promote the relations between the two countries in all areas and also to work on increasing their foreign trade in goods, which amounted to EUR 76 million in the initial nine months of the year.

"Foreign trade can be even better and it is necessary to implement the roadmap agreed by the two Presidents with the aim of developing and improving our relations."

The Serbian Foreign Minister stressed that there was great potential for the enhancement of relations in many areas as well as excellent prospects for improved cooperation, particularly in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, construction, IT sector and defence industry.

"We agreed to hold regular meetings of the Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Kazakhstan annually, as a guarantee of a stable cooperation in the coming period", concluded Minister Dacic after the meeting in Astana.
