High Level of Bilateral Relations between Serbia and the Republic of South Africa

Ivica Dacic - Nosivive Mapisa-NkakuluFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received Minister of Defence and Military Veterans of the Republic of South Africa, Ms. Nosiviwe Noluthando Mapisa-Nqakula, in the context of her official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

In the talks, both sides noted a high level of bilateral relations, dating back to the times of anti-colonial struggle and the Non-Aligned Movement, expressing readiness for their further solidification.

The interlocutors expressed interest in exchanging high- and top-level visits, and interest in cooperation in numerous areas.

They agreed that it was necessary to upgrade the contractual basis in all areas of common interest, especially in relation to the relaxation of the visa regime.

Views were exchanged about regional issues and the need for joint action at the multilateral level and for cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Republic of Serbia for the firm position of the Republic of South Africa regarding the respect of international law and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, in relation to Kosovo and Metohija.
