The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, also included Mr. Veljko Odalovic Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of the Commission on Missing Persons, Ambassador Dr Slavoljub Caric Head of the International Legal Affairs Department, and Ms. Jasmina Pekmezovic, First Counsellor. The visit by the ICTY President takes place in the framework of the ICTY Completion Strategy leading up to its closure on 31 December 2017. The talks included topics such as the legacy of the Hague Tribunal from its establishment 24 years ago until today, cooperation among the Western Balkans countries on war crime-related issues, opening the Hague Tribunal Information Offices in Serbia, the position of Serbian citizens serving prison sentences and also the assessment of the overall cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. |
