msp argentine1100152First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic participated at a high-level event: Strengthening of cooperation regarding migration and refugees in the context of the New Development Agenda.

Referring to serious challenges countries are faced with in the context of refugees from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, the Serbian Foreign Minister underlined the importance of stabilizing the situation at the roots of the problem, that is, in the countries they are coming from. He reiterated that the building of walls and fences, closing of borders is certainly not a solution. The solidarity of all is needed in order to reach a sustainable solution.

Minister Dacic talked yesterday, in the margins of the UNGA, with his Argentine colleague Hector Timerman.

The Argentine Minister thanked his Serbian counterpart for Serbia’s support to the UNGA resolution on the fundamental principles of the process of sovereign debt restructuring, adopted on 10 September 2015.

He showed an interest for the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the course of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and reiterated his country’s position on principled non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija. Minister Dacic invited his Argentinian colleague to visit Serbia.
