nederland-flagThe priorities of the diplomatic mission in the Netherlands will be to achieve closer parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, but also economic one, since the potentials in this area are underutilized, said the newly appointed Serbian Ambassador to the Netherlands Petar Vico.

At a session of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Serbian Parliament, before leaving to take up the new appointment, Vico said that the Netherlands, which is one of the founding members of the European Union, has a significant impact on the EU enlargement policy and that it is important to improve cooperation between Parliaments of the two countries, because the Dutch Parliament plays an important role in the foreign policy of that country.

In addition, cooperation with legal institutions in the Netherlands is also important, and there already exist training programmes for chapters 23 and 24 which will be opened first during the negotiation process with the EU.

The Ambassador also said that it is a rich and economically developed country, and that the priority of the diplomatic mission will also be economic cooperation, which could be better, despite the fact that the Netherlands was affected by the economic crisis.
