gs-unMinister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic left for New York as a member of the delegation headed by President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic.
President Nikolic will speak in the UN General Assembly debate entitled „Role of the international criminal justice in reconciliation".
As stated by the President Press Service, President Nikolic will have bilateral meetings with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and also with Chairman of BiH Presidency Nebojsa Radmanovic.
A public debate on the work of international criminal tribunals, scheduled by President of the UN General Assembly Vuk Jeremic, will be held at the UN General Assembly on East River on Wednesday; so far, more than 40 UN member states have applied to participate.
"President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic will present an in-depth key-note report, a serious analysis on 42 pages, which will be become part of UN archives, and will prove that the process that preceded the establishment and the very establishment of the Hague Tribunal are not in accordance with the law", said today Advisor to the President of Serbia Oliver Antic on RTS television.
