altIn the framework of "Let's nurture Serbian language" campaign, the Embassy of Serbia in Bern mounted an exhibition of embroidered Cyrillic letters entitled "Golden threads of Cyrillic alphabet". The exhibition of Cyrillic letters embroidered in gold threads with motifs from the Miroslav Gospel was organized by association "Beo-etno vizija" from Belgrade in order to promote the beauty of the Cyrillic alphabet - a custodian of Serbian cultural heritage, its centuries-old traditions, spirituality and identity.

The exhibition was followed by a lecture of Janja Todorovic, a philologist and writer, on the history and importance of Cyrillic alphabet with video presentation prepared by Dusan Todorovic on ancient Cyrillic monuments and literary works.

In her opening statement, Ambassador Snezana Jankovic emphasized that the Embassy launched "Let's nurture Serbian language" campaign last year, taking into account a large Serbian diaspora living in that country and the need to preserve Serbian language and alphabet among young Serbian generations born and bred in Switzerland as a pillar of their identity, culture and tradition.

At the end of the program, Arnaud Guillon, a French charity worker and founder of non-governmental organization "Solidarity for Kosovo" addressed the guests via video link. He emphasized that the "Serbs should be proud of their beautiful language not at all easy for foreigners to learn", as an outstanding asset and a starting point to learn and appreciate all other languages and cultures.
