The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance, started the realization of the project "The World in Serbia" in the academic year 2010/2011, based on the conclusion adopted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The project is the program of scholarships for all levels of study (including a preparatory year of study of Serbian) at all University of Belgrade schools and colleges for students coming from NAM member states and observers.

Within the framework of the project, 196 scholarship holders from 43 countries studied at the University of Belgrade in academic 2010/2011 and 2011/2012.
