Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic received Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia Chen Bo.

Ambassador Chen sincerely congratulated Minister Selakovic for assuming the post of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and expressed her conviction that in his new duty of a newly-appointed Foreign Minister as well he will continue to extend outstanding contribution to further promotion of the overall relations between Serbia and the PR of China.

With cordial regards from Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, Ambassador Chen also delivered the message of congratulations to Minister Selakovic from the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PR of China Wang Yi for which Minister Selakovic expressed special gratitude and recalled an open invitation to the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs to pay a visit to Serbia.

During the talks, they noted mutual satisfaction with the outstanding overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China and readiness to enrich comprehensive strategic partnership. It was noted that even in the face of COVID-19 pandemic, the cooperation between the two countries was additionally promoted while the continuity of the high and highest-level political dialogue has been maintained.

Minister Selakovic congratulated China for the successful fight against COVID-19 and renewed gratitude to China for overall assistance extended by the PR of China, Chinese provinces and companies especially for the overwhelming assistance of the Chinese people to Serbia.

They exchanged views on the promotion of overall cooperation through stepping up political dialogue and exchange of visits at high and highest political level and reiterated mutual support on questions of national interest for both sides. It was agreed to intensify further cooperation within the "Belt and Road" initiative and China-CEEC ("17 + 1") mechanism to which our side attaches particular importance. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the upward trend of economic relations between the two countries and pointed to the existing major potentials for their further strengthening.
