Dacic in talks with the newly-appointed UNICEF Representative in Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Deyana Kostadinova, the newly-appointed UNICEF Representative in Serbia, who presented her credentials.

Minister Dacic congratulated her on taking up her new duties and welcomed her to Serbia. He expressed satisfaction with the fact that a representative from our neighboring and friendly country, the Republic of Bulgaria, is assuming the post of the head of UNICEF office in Serbia.

Minister Dacic assessed that cooperation between UNICEF and institutions of Serbia was very good so far and extended gratitude for its previous engagement and activities on the protection of rights and improvement of the position of children in the Republic of Serbia. He expressed expectation that this cooperation will continue to be deepened and expanded in the future.

UNICEF Representative Kostadinova thanked for the warm hospitality and underlined that the cooperation between UNICEF and Serbian institutions has been at an enviable level so far. She welcomed the adoption of the UNICEF country programme document for Serbia for the period 2021-2025 and she conveyed expressions of gratitude to Minister Dacic for the contribution of the Republic of Serbia to the achievement of the goals and fulfillment of the mandate of UNICEF. She pointed out that UNICEF will continue to provide support to the Government of the Republic of Serbia in promoting the rights and position of the youngest.
