Minister Dacic had talks with new Director of the UN Population Fund Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received a new Director of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Serbia John Kennedy Mosoti who is on a visit to Serbia.

Minister Dacic congratulated Mr. Mosoti on his recent appointment and assessed the past cooperation with UNFPA as very positive expressing an expectation that it would continue to develop successfully in the future as well. He also voiced his gratitude for the assistance and support extended in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic and an expectation that the recently adopted Country Programme document for Serbia 2021-2025 will additionally reinforce our partnership. He pointed out that the promotion of demographic situation is one of Serbia's major national priorities, in view of the demographic challenges we are faced with.

The Director of the UN Population Fund Serbia John Kennedy Mosoti thanked for the warm hospitality extended to him and conveyed gratitude of UNFPA Executive Director Natalia Kanem for Serbia's support to UNFPA in its global and local activities as well as for financial support, a gesture highly appreciated by them. He expressed satisfaction with the recently adopted Country Programme document for Serbia and conveyed the gratitude for constructive cooperation in its adoption. He emphasized that the UNFPA fully supported the Government of Serbia towards implementing the goals and priorities regarding the population question, the central issue within the UNFPA mandate.
