First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, appearing on TV Pink's Hit Tvit show, said that Milo Djukanovic had lost his way and that the policy pursued by the Montenegrin leadership had gone too far in its hatred against the "Greater Serbia" policy, as they call it.

"He seems to have returned to the beginnings of his career, the only difference is that Milo is now fighting against Milo", the Foreign Minister said and added that Djukanovic came to power in the wake of internal turmoil spearheaded by him and Bulatovic.

According to him, the Montenegrin leadership at the time lost touch with its people and resorted to the alleged Greater Serbia policy to upset its citizens – the very thing Djukanovic is doing today.

"Serbia has not undermined Montenegro in any way nor did we interfere in their internal affairs", Minister Dacic said and added that there was not a single Serb in the cabinet of the President of Montenegro, even though they amount to 29% of the country's population. The Minister said that all we cared about was the position of Serbs.

"It was not the Serbs alone that cost him the elections, as they are too few to cast all those votes. He is merely looking for excuses for his failure. It is appalling to accuse Serbia of interfering in Montenegro's internal affairs", Minister Dacic said.

He said that the pressures would die down once the administration changes in Montenegro.

"More caution is necessary. Some statements coming from the winning coalition are not helpful either. There are no hegemonic aspirations on our part. Montenegro is a brotherly state and we have no closer kin. It remains to be seen whether this coalition will manage to calm down the situation. Serbia seeks to have the best possible relations with Montenegro", Minister Dacic said.

The Minister added that Serbia did not interfere in their elections and wants to maintain good relations with Montenegro.

"Djukanovic himself created the problems that brought him down", the Serbian Foreign Minister said.

Minister Dacic underlined that Meliza Haradinaj sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 8 September, calling on B&H to recognize the independence of the so-called Kosovo.

"They are trying to take advantage of the situation despite the agreement we made in Washington. No doubt, Pristina will deliberately misinterpret the Washington agreement", Minister Dacic said.

However, that request was not acted upon even though this is the policy pursued by Komsic and Dzaferovic.

Minister Dacic said that, in response to the proclamation of the so-called independence of Kosovo, Serbia did not have any plans with the Republic of Srpska, this being the only thing which could worry the international community.
"I think that the leadership at the time made a mistake", Dacic said.
