State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Stevanovic participated today in the Informal Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), which was held via video conference.

The topic of the meeting, which is traditionally held on the fringes of the General Debate of the UN General Assembly, was the promotion of regional cooperation in alleviating and remedying the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his statement, State Secretary Stevanovic informed the participants about Serbia's activities in terms of offsetting the economic consequences of the pandemic. Referring to the importance of regional and global cooperation on this issue, he took the opportunity to thank for the assistance Serbia was provided by China, Russian Federation, EU and USA at the crucial time following the outbreak of the pandemic. He stressed that Serbia supported all regional initiatives aimed at improving the economy, especially in the fields of transport, trade and tourism, which are also areas most affected by measures that countries undertook in the fight against COVID-19.
