Minister Dacic congratulates Minister Søreide on Norway's election as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2021-2022 period

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked on the phone with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Ine Eriksen Søreide.

Minister Dacic congratulated Norway on its election as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2021-2022 period, wishing success during their tenure. He voiced hope that the cooperation between Serbia and Norway in the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations would continue to be good, as it had been so far.

The two collocutors exchanged experience of the two countries in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, and Minister Dacic expressed special gratitude for the assistance extended by the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Serbia, thus providing substantial support to the combat against the ongoing pandemic. He stressed that the Republic of Serbia and its citizens highly appreciated the continued assistance and support of the Kingdom of Norway to our country.

Minister Søreide conveyed that the Kingdom of Norway had an interest to further promote economic cooperation, particularly taking into account that there was room for the enhancement of the bilateral trade in goods. She underlined that the Kingdom of Norway was ready to earmark further funding to encourage small and medium-sized businesses in the Republic of Serbia, as a form of assistance in overcoming the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Foreign Minister of Norway invited Minister Dacic to visit the Kingdom of Norway after the election process.
