First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia Noureddine Erray.

In the talks, the two collocutors expressed satisfaction with the fact that the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic was improving in the two countries. The two sides expressed their hope that the socio-economic situation will soon return to normality, and that economic and other forms of cooperation between the two countries will continue.

Minister Erray informed his counterpart about the situation in Tunisia, emphasizing that European countries recognized Tunisia as a safe tourist destination in the South Mediterranean region and announced that tourist season in Tunisia was due to begin soon.

Both sides expressed their delight with the advancement of the bilateral cooperation and wish to continue activities aimed at strengthening and deepening decades-long friendly relations between Serbia and Tunisia, especially in the field of economy and tourism.

Minister Erray reasserted Tunisia's principled support to Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as full support to the continuation of the dialogue and finding a compromise solution to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, for which Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude.

Minister Erray expressed gratitude for Serbia's assistance in the repatriation of Tunisian citizens during the coronavirus pandemic, not only from Serbia, but also the entire region.

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs invited his Tunisian counterpart to visit Serbia in the upcoming period and Minister Erray gladly accepted, emphasizing that he cherished the fondest memories of Belgrade and Serbia dating back to the time he spent working at the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Belgrade.
