First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Ekaterina Zaharieva.

In the talks, they noted that the epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had significantly improved in Serbia as well as Bulgaria, owing to timely and adequate measures implemented by both countries, and that the activities towards the full normalization of relations and continuation of cooperation between the two countries had commenced.

The Ministers noted that constant communication and cooperation between Serbian and Bulgarian officials continued during the epidemic as well, which was reflected, among others, in the quadrilateral format meeting with representatives from Greece and Romania, held on 19 May 2020. On that occasion, the participants reached an agreement on the normalization of entry regime and opening of border crossings, while also discussing opportunities for the deepening of cooperation in the upcoming period.

Aiming to maintain the dynamic of meetings, Minister Dacic invited Minister Zaharieva to visit the Republic of Serbia.
