In a letter to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi conveyed that China was ready to provide assistance to the Serbian side, standing firmly shoulder-to-shoulder in efforts to overcome the situation and ongoing difficulties together, so that the global challenge facing public health could be jointly surmounted.

The full text of the letter is as follows:

„Excellency, Mr. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs,

Please convey my sympathies to those in your country infected with Covid 19 virus and my wishes for a speedy recovery. Not long ago you have resolutely headed the delegation on a visit to China, while China was facing a critical situation amid the epidemic. Through your actions you expressed support to China, for which I am sincerely grateful. I believe that an active response of the Government will ensure putting the epidemic under control effectively.

In the recent period, the epidemic struck many countries and areas. The situation is worrying. The virus is an enemy that all of humanity has in common. The international community needs to make joint efforts in dealing with the virus. China and Serbia have been fostering an iron-clad friendship, standing by each other at all times and offering mutual assistance. We stand ready to provide assistance to the Serbian side, standing firmly shoulder-to-shoulder in efforts to overcome the situation and ongoing difficulties together, so that the global challenge facing public health could be jointly surmounted.

I am confident that through joint efforts of all sides we will be able to defeat the epidemic. I stand ready to work with you to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership existing between China and Serbia.
I wish you all the best", reads the letter by the Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China.
