Dacic and Lavrov: "Constant communication, mutual support and assistance in combating coronavirus"

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic spoke today on the phone with his Russian counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

The Ministers agreed to postpone the visit by Minister Lavrov to Serbia, planned for 25-26 March 2020, due to the situation caused by the Covid-19 virus epidemic. They agreed that Minister Lavrov would visit Serbia upon termination of the state of emergency introduced in Serbia yesterday.

Minister Dacic informed his counterpart about the measures implemented by the Republic of Serbia to eliminate the consequences of coronavirus outbreak and protect its citizens. He conveyed a request to Minister Lavrov for assistance in procurement of additional medical equipment, to be necessary in case of a sharp rise in the number of infected persons.

Minister Lavrov promised that Russia would, as always, provide help to Serbia, wishing the brotherly Serbian people and its leadership to overcome this vicious disease as soon as possible.

The Ministers agreed to maintain constant communication and exchange experiences, mutual assistance and support in surmounting this challenge facing not only the two countries, but the whole world as well.
