First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked on the phone with Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov, discussing the current situation in the wake of the Covid-19 virus outbreak and the consequences of the pandemic on our two countries and the entire region.

The Ministers informed each other about the respective measures being implemented by their countries in combating Covid-19, in line with the recommendations by the World Health Organization, aiming to protect their citizens.

They agreed that joint efforts were prerequisite in suppressing the spread of the epidemic and minimizing the consequences of the crisis it had caused.

They agreed on the need to identify, as soon as possible, solutions to ongoing problems regarding the difficulties in the transport of goods and delays in passenger transport, caused by the protective measures limiting entry to persons who had stayed in countries and areas where intensified transmission of the disease was recorded.

Minister Dimitrov thanked Serbia for the assistance it extended in the evacuation of his compatriots from the United States.
