First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Brigadier General Tommaso Vitale, the newly-appointed Chief of NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade.

The two collocutors emphasized that Serbia and NATO shared an interest for the preservation of peace and stability in the region as well as a commitment to the further promotion of partner cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, while fully respecting the policy of military neutrality pursued by the Republic of Serbia.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic of top-level political dialogue, including with the practical military and civilian cooperation in many fields maintained within the Partnership for Peace programme, with over one hundred partner activities carried out annually.

Furthermore, they assessed that the adoption of Serbia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) second cycle, for the period 2019-2021, would give new impetus to the cooperation.
In the talks, the collocutors discussed the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, in the context of which the importance of an undiminished engagement of KFOR mission, in line with its mandate provided by the UN Security Council, was stressed in particular.
