"The visit to the People's Republic of China was extremely important and, with this gesture, Serbia proved to be a true friend of China. As the saying goes – calamity is the touchstone of a brave mind or a friend in need is a friend indeed!

Each and every interlocutor underlined the fact that China was proud to have such a friend as Serbia and, on the other hand, Serbia was also proud to be China's friend. In this respect, I expressed admiration, on behalf of Serbia, for all the actions China has undertaken to fight off the virus.

I was informed that significant results were achieved in containing the epidemic, that the number of people who recovered amounted to more than 20,000, and that merely five people outside the Hubei province were infected yesterday, suggesting that significant steps were undertaken to contain the epidemic.

We wish to express our admiration and respect to Chinese people for all the undertaken actions, as well as our support to it. The aid from Serbia will arrive soon, above all medical equipment.
We wish China and its people to fight off this terrible disease!

Serbia condemns all political spins, used for spreading anti-Chinese sentiments worldwide, especially in certain Western European countries, as we find the opposite to hold true, meaning that everyone should support China which, standing at the forefront of the epidemic, with its planned-out and responsible approach, assisted the rest of the world a lot in becoming better organized in case the virus starts spreading to other continents and regions.

We discussed our bilateral relations which are, as you may well know, exceptionally good and strategic in nature.

I conveyed President Vucic's greetings and message to President Xi Jinping, including his confirmation of attendance of the China-CEEC Summit, involving 17 CEE countries, to be held on 15 and 16 April in China. He is one of the first officials to announce his attendance, showing once again our friendship and solidarity. Minister Wang Ji also delivered his message to President Vucic that perhaps one of the convenient time for President Xi Jinping to visit Serbia was the beginning of fall, in September.

I reiterated our gratitude to China for its principled stance on Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty concerning the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and we also expressed once again our support for China's policy of preserving and safeguarding its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

I believe that it was important that Ministers Wang Ji and Song Tao highlighted that my visit was the first visit of a Minister of Foreign Affairs in such specific circumstances. This message was unique due to the fact that Serbia was ready to show its solidarity and support to the Chinese people and its leadership during such difficult times, just as China did with its presence and human sacrifices during NATO bombing, the most difficult times for the Serbian people", Serbian Foreign Minister stated, at the end of his visit to China.
