On his visit to PR China, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with Head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Minister Song Tao.

Minister Song expressed his gratitude to Minister Dacic for visiting China at such a difficult moment in time.

Minister Dacic said that he was pleased to be the first Foreign Minister and the first head of party to visit China since the virus outbreak.

He stressed that the efforts made by China to suppress the epidemic were admired in Serbia and conveyed his belief that the current situation will be resolved promptly, allowing China to return in full capacity to its development goals.

The officials assessed as very positive the progress made in the bilateral relations and mutual political confidence-building, to be given further impetus by the upcoming visit by President Vucic to China in April to take part in the China-CEEC Summit as well as the visit by President Xi to Serbia later this year.

They underlined in particular that the fostering of inter-party relations was a contributing factor in the context of overall bilateral relations.
