Ambassador Filipovic at the 7th Belgrade NATO Week panel on Serbia-NATO partner relations

Ambassador Branimir Filipovic, Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for security policy, was among the panellists in a discussion on Serbia-NATO partner relations held within the 7th Belgrade NATO Week international conference, organized by the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies.

Speaking at the panel, Ambassador Filipovic pointed to the key tenets of Serbia-NATO partner cooperation carried out pursuant to Serbia's policy of military neutrality, through political and other forms of dialogue at various levels, as well as through diverse forms of practical civilian and military cooperation maintained in the framework of Partnership for Peace programme.

In addition to the results achieved so far in the first cycle of Serbia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP), the Acting Assistant Foreign Minister briefly outlined the elements of the second Serbia-NATO IPAP cycle for the period 2019-2021, having recently completed its adoption procedure, as the highest-level cooperation mechanism for partner countries with no aspiration to join the Alliance.

The panel moderated by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade Jørn Eugen Gjelstad featured Chief of General Staff, Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilovic as keynote speaker, while other panellists included Robert Pszczel - NATO Secretariat Public Diplomacy Division, Arne Sannes Bjornstad - Special Representative for the Western Balkans at MFA Norway, Ret. Brigadier General Mircea Mindrescu of the New Strategy Centre, Jiří Schneider - Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Central Europe and Prof Dr Ivan Spasojevic - Research Associate at the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research.
