The third Belgrade Conference takes place in Warsaw

The third Belgrade Conference has taken place in Warsaw today. The Conference has been devised as a series of meetings with the aim of transferring expert knowledge from Poland and accordingly supporting Serbian reforms.

The delegation of the Republic of Serbia was led by Ambassador Dejan Ralevic, Acting Assistant Minister for the EU, whereas the participants were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia and members of the Serbian Negotiating Team who cover particular topics in the accession negotiations with the EU.

Poland's experiences in dealing with the protection of the environment, legal issues related to the work of the European Court of Justice as well as talks on the process of European integration were discussed.

In addition, Poland's strong support of the EU enlargement policy was reaffirmed and the continuation of the negotiation process of Serbia which Poland had already confirmed in the letter of mutual commitment with 5 other EU Member States addressed to the European Commission President. Another 9 EU Member States subsequently followed up with their signatures.
