First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a delegation of the Committee on European Affairs of the Czech Republic Parliament's Chamber of Deputies, headed by Committee Chairman Ondrej Benšik.

In the cordial and open talks both sides assessed the bilateral relations as exceptionally good, characterized by cooperation at all levels as well as an intensified and continued political dialogue at all levels. An expectation was expressed that the effective cooperation would be further strengthened in the period ahead, at both political and economic levels.

Minister Dacic stressed Serbia's appreciation of the continued support extended by the Czech Republic to the Republic of Serbia in its EU accession process, through its efforts within both the EU and the Visegrad Group. He conveyed an expectation that the Czech Republic would in the future, as well, show an understanding for the lasting orientation of Serbia towards finding a comprehensive, durable and sustainable solution for the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, through further dialogue with Pristina.
Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs Ondrej Benešik, pleased with the high-level reception, conveyed assurances that the Czech Republic would continue to be a reliable partner to Serbia, particularly when it came to supporting further European integration of the country.

He agreed with the assessment of the bilateral relations as exceptionally good, noting that there was still significant room for their promotion, particularly in the economy, culture and education.
In this context, he delivered documents related to the Serbian-Czech exhibition entitled "Serbia of Kings and Emperors" to be hosted with sponsorship of President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman at the Prague Castle in the first half of 2021, and sought support of the Serbian side to this Czech initiative.
