First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Nikolaos Dendias who is on a daylong visit to our country.

At a joint press conference the Ministers assessed that the strong historical ties and great friendship should be translated into strong partnership. The Ministers also underlined that additional development of economic cooperation was a priority.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that it was their task to further develop the relations between the two states which were already excellent.
Minister Dacic thanked Greece for the support in connection with Kosovo and Metohija, saying that Greece can expect Serbia's support regarding the Cyprus issue.

Also, both Ministers today discussed possible establishment of Serbia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikolaos Dendias said that the High-Level Cooperation Council would meet in Athens in December which would present an opportunity to embark upon a new era of bilateral relations and cooperation which in addition to political dialogue would also develop at other levels and in various areas.
"Greeks and Serbs stood side by side in the good and bad times and today Greece is the country most supportive of Serbia's European perspective".

The Greek Foreign Minister said that Serbian European path was a factor of peace and stability in the region and that the position of that Mediterranean country on Kosovo would not change.
