Serbia-Georgia relations intensified in the last two years

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, received a farewell call from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Georgia, Ioseb Nanobashvili, who covers the Republic of Serbia from Athens on a non-resident basis.

They noted that bilateral relations between the two countries had intensified over the past two years, including high and top-level meetings. Mutual satisfaction was expressed about the opening of the Diplomatic Office of Georgia in Belgrade, as well as the start of procedure to establish a consulate headed by the Honorary Consul of Serbia in Tbilisi. Minister Dacic emphasized that the Republic of Serbia was grateful to Georgia for its principled support to the preservation of Serbia's territorial integrity.

It was emphasized that there was an interest and room for improving economic cooperation and expanding the contractual legal basis between the two countries.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy thanked the Ambassador of Georgia for his very noted contribution and expressed confidence that the initiatives launched and activities carried out during his term would contribute to the further development of the overall cooperation between the two friendly countries.
