The third round of bilateral political consultations was held in Belgrade today between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary Nemanja Stevanovic while the Cambodian delegation was led by Permanent State Secretary Ouch Boriht.

During the consultations, an overview of the current state of bilateral relations between Serbia and Cambodia was made, opinions were exchanged on topics of common interest and the possibilities and directions for further development of the overall bilateral cooperation were defined.

Both sides assessed that the relations were traditionally good and friendly and expressed willingness to intensify political dialogue at all levels. It was concluded that there was ample room to improve economic cooperation through better knowledge of each other's potentials and through an increase in trade.

State Secretary Nemanja Stevanovic conveyed gratitude for the principled position of the Kingdom of Cambodia regarding the non-recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of so-called Kosovo, expressing expectation that Cambodia would continue to uphold the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

The two State Secretaries also exchanged views on major regional and international topics.
