Statement of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic following the withdrawal of Interpol membership bid by Pristina

"Pristina withdrew its bid for Interpol membership because they realized that there was absolutely no chance of the so-called Kosovo joining Interpol or any other major international organizations.

This is proof of Serbia's strengthened international position which dealt a final blow to Pristina's delusions that anything goes. Consequently, Pristina's unilateral acts will no longer work while Serbia is strong.

It would have been better for the so-called Kosovo if they had never submitted this candidature since the vote would have demonstrated to what extent former support to their cause has crumbled. This is the result of our State policy, the policy of President Aleksandar Vucic, our Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Over the past seven days, I had talks with Foreign Ministers from the following countries who voiced their support to us: Russia, India, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Nicaragua, Spain, Congo, Nepal, Uganda, Georgia, Moldova, Union of the Comoros, Angola, Cambodia, Indonesia, Republic of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Dominican Republic, Burundi, Namibia, Chile, Grenada, Belarus, Argentina, Tunisia, Iran, Armenia, Bolivia, Cameroon, Lesotho, Azerbaijan, the Maldives, Burkina Faso, Hungary, Greece, Slovakia, Republic of Korea, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Equatorial Guinea, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Mozambique, Rwanda, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Czech Republic, Morocco, Venezuela, Zambia, the Seychelles, Laos, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Eritrea, Benin, Panama, Botswana, Madagascar, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Central African Republic, Kyrgyz Republic, Mali, Togo, Surinam, Sudan, Uruguay, Algeria, Haiti, Ghana, Eswatini, Oman, Malawi, the Bahamas, Cabo Verde, South Sudan, Fiji and UAE.

Although Pristina withdrew its Interpol membership bid, I would like to thank all countries which demonstrated respect for the territorial integrity of Serbia. I would also like thank the colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for working hard with us towards this goal."
