Good cooperation between Serbia and FAO should be further intensified and expanded to include new areas

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met with Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Qu Dongyu, who is on a two-day visit to the Republic of Serbia.

Minister Dacic congratulated him on his appointment as Director General and emphasized the good cooperation that our country had with the Food and Agriculture Organization, as one of the most important specialized agencies of the United Nations system of organizations.

The Serbian Foreign Minister voiced his confidence that during the four-year term of Qu Dongyu, cooperation between Serbia and FAO would be further enhanced.

FAO Director General Qu Dongyu thanked for the hospitality and expressed his particular satisfaction with the fact that he was the first FAO Director General to visit Serbia. He agreed that Serbia and FAO had long-standing successful cooperation and expressed readiness as FAO Director to contribute to its intensification and expansion to new areas.
