Paraguay will not change its position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija

On the first day of the General Debate at the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met with Paraguay's Foreign Minister Antonio Rivas Palacios.

Minister Dacic recalled his very successful visit to Paraguay this year and the substantive talks he had with the President and the then Foreign Minister of Paraguay.

Both sides assessed the relations between the two countries as excellent, expressing their readiness to undertake additional efforts to further improve the relations, especially in the fields of economy, education and defense.

The Paraguayan Foreign Minister expressed interest in organizing a business forum in Paraguay to be attended by businessmen from Serbia.

Minister Dacic briefed his collocutor on the current situation in Serbia and the region as well as on the stalemate in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and expressed gratitude for the principled position of Paraguay concerning the Kosovo issue.

Minister Palacios thanked for the information provided and confirmed that Paraguay's position on the issue would not change.
