Cooperation between Serbia and Association of Caribbean States characterized as a success

On the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly session, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Dr. June Soomer.

In substantive talks, Secretary General Soomer gave Minister Dacic a detailed account of the serious consequences left in the wake of hurricanes this year. She highlighted in particular the problem of displaced persons whose homes were destroyed by hurricanes and that the Bahamas currently faced a humanitarian disaster.

The Serbian Foreign Minister underlined that the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the region of the Caribbean developed in the intended direction, for the benefit of Serbia and many countries of the region.

The ACS Secretary General thanked Minister Dacic for the assistance and support of Serbia to the entire region of the Caribbean and called on him to continue the positive cooperation with both the region as a whole and individual Caribbean States at the bilateral level.

Minister Dacic expressed gratitude for the support extended by ACS to the development of overall relations with the region of the Caribbean.
